Since the news of the reported ‘retirement’ of Pastor E.A Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church Of God (RCCG) broke on Saturday, many knew major surprises would follow.

Daddy G.O, as Pastor Adeboye is called, reportedly stepped down after a law by the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN) forced him to do so, sparking outrage among members of the church.

What followed was the firing of the Executive Secretary of the FRCN, Mr. Jim Obazee, and the reconstitution of the FRC board by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Reports had earlier revealed that the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Okechukwu Enelamah, had earlier written to Obazee to suspend the law but Obazee refused.

New information on social media has now revealed that Obazee was a former Pastor with the RCCG and had always been against Pastor Adeboye’s leadership.

According to the text going around on social media, “This ungodly law that is supposedly signed into law by the National Assembly did not start as a national issue but an expression of grief by one man who became aggrieved by his pastor and general overseer. This man is the current boss of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria.

“This said man was a pastor with the RCCG who became envious of the success and power wielded by the General Overseer, because, he himself is a power hungry man.

“He became head of the FRC after repeatedly backstabbing his boss to whom he was number two with repeated petitions to the higher authorities against his boss until he had his way.

“He has never had anything good to say about his G. O. He had always spoken I’ll of him to whoever cares to hear.

“While he was still a pastor under the RCCG, he bragged that he had not stepped his foot into the Redemption Camp in many years.

“He had always complained that the G O has asked other pastors to step down after reaching 70 years and he himself has refused to do so. And had bragged on a few occasions that he would ensure the G O steps down.”

The write-up also revealed that Pastor Adeboye called Obazee for a meeting but Obazee “became so power drunk that he tried to insult the integrity of the G O four years ago.”

It was also revealed that Obazee was the instrument used to remove former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Lamido Sanusi from office.

“He was an easy tool then because he came very handy to be used against the then Central Bank governor which led to his suspension from office. This drew him closer to the president and tactically had the president’s ear. It was at that point he made way to express his devilish desire against the church with his G O as main target,” the write-up read.

The write-up also accused Obazee of some cases of abuse of office and immoral activities and went further to say that he is (was) boasting that the (suspended) law will spread to all the other long serving G.O.s
