Convicted former Governor of Delta state, James Ibori, yesterday held a thanksgiving service at the First Baptist Church, Oghara in Delta state to celebrate his freedom.
The thanksgiving service in honour of former Governor was following his return to Nigeria after serving a jail term in London for money laundering.
Ibori was jailed for stealing $250 million belonging to the state government when he served as governor.
The service which started at about 10am was attended by several traditional rulers across the state including the Ovie of Oghara, Ovie of Ughelli, Ovie of Evwreni among others.
The immediate past governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan; former Police Affairs Minister and his wife, Alaowie and Mrs Broderick Bozimo; Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo; Mr Ovuozourie Macaulay; Chief Solomon Fukekeme; Senator Patrick Osakwe and Mr Festus Ovie Agas, among others.
