Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has said President Muhammadu Buhari, who he met with at the Abuja House in London on Wednesday night, is healthy.
According to him, there is no cause for alarm.
Saraki revealed this in a statement he personally signed, which was sent to The Punch newspaper through the Media Office of the Senate President.
The statement read, “Delighted to see that President Buhari is doing well; was cheerful and in good spirits.
“The President I saw today is healthy, witty and himself.
“The President’s absence and imminent return shows that there is no vacuum in government and our system of democracy is working with all organs of government fulfilling their mandate. And let me use the time-tested cliché, there is no cause for alarm!”
Saraki and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, had travelled to the United Kingdom on Wednesday to meet with Buhari, who is in the country for medical vacation.
Majority Leader of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan, was also on the trip.
The National Assembly leaders had a late-night meeting with the President.
After the meeting on Wednesday night, Buhari thanked the leadership of the National Assembly for the visit.
