Children of former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo and Kessington Adebutu, popularly known as Baba Ijebu have gone ahead with their wedding.
The traditional marriage took place on Thursday despite the controversy and serious threats from the groom’s mother
Taiwo Obasanjo, wife of the ex-president, had said the wedding will lead to disaster and strange deaths in the country.
She had filed a suit at an Ikeja high court, seeking to stop the wedding but Lateefat Okunnu, the presiding judge, dismissed the suit on the grounds that the court lacked jurisdiction to hear it because the groom, 33, is an adult.
She also wrote a letter to security agencies, pleading her cause. She wrote,
“These two dates are not for a wedding, but planned to cause a great holocaust by inviting unsuspecting numerous souls to a banquet of death to feat on human flesh and blood to serve their covenant with Satan.
“After the wedding, you will be hearing and seeing incidents of plane crashes, fire, multiple road accidents, tankers and trailers killing people, cancers, diseases of the kidney, liver, prostrate, eyes issues and diverse health problems causing strange death in people and the economic situation will worsen.
“My son, Olujonwo Obasanjo, is innocent. He is a Daniel in the lion’s den and he is a captive of multiple strong men and women of our world. He is bewitched, cast under the spell of dark powers of ultra-wicked cruelty originating from Rosemary Dacosta and her daughter, Tope Adebutu.
“I am not against the wedding, all I am relentlessly pleading is for a shift in the date and they turned against me, even on the 11th and 13th of May they are planning to assassinate me or keep me in police custody from 10th – 14th May 2017, when they would have completed the devilish wedding ceremony.
“The public protest is to bring out people to praise the Almighty God very loud with songs and drummers to sing and dance like King David as they hold the ‘demonic’ ceremony. We will not insult or abuse anyone.”
However, the traditional marriage, which held at the Balmoral Hall of Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos, was attended by politicians, business moguls, and traditional rulers.
The white wedding of Tolulope Adebutu and Olujonwo Obasanjo is expected to take place on Saturday.
Tolulope and Olujonwo had their introduction ceremony in December, at the Ikoyi, Lagos home of Adebutu.
