[VIDEO] How Winner Of June 12 Presidential Election, MKO Abiola Was Buried

Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, popularly called MKO Abiola was the acclaimed winner of the June 12th, 1993 presidential election in Nigeria.

Abiola, a business tycoon won the ’93 election which is still considered the freest and fairest election in Nigeria.

The election was however annulled by the then military head of state, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida.

MKO Abiola was imprisoned for treason shortly after he declared himself as president.

Abiola died under suspicious circumstances shortly after the death of General Abacha. Moshood Abiola died on the day that he was due to be released, on 7 July 1998.
