Nigeria winger, Victor Moses was not on the podium as red-hot Liverpool winger, Mohammed Salah was named BBC African player of the year on Monday.
Salah, the Premier League’s top scorer with 13 goals, also scored 10 times in all competitions for Serie A club Roma in 2017 before making the move to Merseyside.
Many football-loving Nigerians had tipped Victor Moses to win the award but it was not to be.
Nigerians took to twitter to air their opinion on the award. See the reactions below:
I’m actually seeing people argue that Victor Moses is more deserving than Salah…

You all saying Salah should calm down and watch football. This award is given to who performed last season – which was Victor Moses. Mo’ Salah has been standout this season so he can win the next award.

The fact that Victor Moses did not win BBC African Footballer of the Year is a travesty.
He deserved it over Mohamed Salah.
