[VIDEO] Sudan 0-1 Nigeria: Gabriel Okechukwu’s Goal Sends Eagles To Nations Cup Final | Highlights #CHAN2018

Gabriel Okechukwu’s first-half strike sent Nigeria through to the final of CHAN 2018 with a 1-0 win over Sudan in Marrakech.

Sudan dismissed Congo via penalty shootouts after scores stood at 1-1 in the last eight, but were silenced by Nigeria, Salisu Yusuf’s men sailing through to book a final meeting with the hosts in Casablanca on Sunday.

Yusuf’s side suffered a massive blow in the opening minutes of the game when captain Ikechukwu Ezenwa was substituted after ramming with Mohamed Hashim.

Nevertheless, substitute, Dele Ajiboye put off a great show – preventing the Sudanese forward line from wreaking havoc.

The Super Eagles dominated proceedings until they took the lead in the 17th minute, as Man of the Match Okechukwu controlled a flick from Anthony Okpotu before sliding past goalkeeper Akram El Hadi.

Nigeria posed less of a threat after the break – and they defended stoutly in the closing stages of the game.

The Falcons of Jediane were unable to capitalize on the west Africans’ numeric disadvantage after Ifeanyi Ifeanyi was given the marching orders in the 57th minute.

A few minutes later, Ajiboye came to the rescue after keeping off Abdel Latif Ismail strike before Stephen Eze ballooned away a shot on the line.

And with three minutes to full time, Sudan had Bakri Makki sent off on 87 minutes for a thoughtless tackle on Dayo Ojo.
