Former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh, made the most dramatic of appearances in court today.
Metuh, who is standing trial for alleged money laundering linked with former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd), appeared at the Federal High Court in Abuja on a stretcher.
Some days ago, the trial judge had ordered that Metuh show up in court or face the risk of forfeiting his bail after his lawyer, Emeka Etiaba informed the court in January that his client was on admission at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital for an undisclosed ailment.
After his appearance in court today, Justice Okon Abang said he has seen that the former PDP spokesman is in a state in which he cannot continue with the trial.
