The original FIFA World Cup Trophy yesterday landed at the Nnamdi Azikwe airport in Abuja as part a four-day tour of the coveted trophy in Nigeria.
The trophy was received by dignitaries and government functionaries including the minister of sports, Solomon Dalung and NFF president, Amaju Pinnick.
The trophy was then taken straight to the Aso villa where it was received with admiration by the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari.

The World cup trophy, which is the original trophy that will be presented to the winner of the world cup later this year, will be on display at old parade ground in Abuja on March 8 (today).
It will also be available for public viewing at the Tafawa Balewa square in Lagos on March 10 and will feature performances by different music acts.
Nigeria joins 31 other countries that would be participating at the FIFA world cup tournament in Russia in June.
Nigeria is grouped alongside Argentina, Iceland and Croatia in Group D.
