Former President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, has raised an alarm over what he described as an attempt to ‘unleash a campaign against him’.
Jonathan made this revelation on Sunday night via his official Facebook page.
The ex-president, who is currently in Sierra Leone for the country’s presidential run-off, said he knows that the truth will surely prevail.
“It has been brought to my attention that while I am away promoting democracy in Sierra Leone, a campaign will be unleashed against me to falsely impugn my name using both faceless and identified persons.
“When I was in power I said my ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian. Even out of power, I continue to hold that belief.
“What I will say however, is that no matter how far and fast falsehood has traveled, it must eventually be overtaken by truth. GEJ.”.
This is coming after the Presidency, on Saturday, said that it is very difficult to forget the level of damage done to Nigeria through the corrupt administration of Jonathan.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, in a statement said,
“Those who are asking our people to simply forget the blatant violation of public trust and the pillaging of the nation’s commonwealth witnessed in the past are saying wittingly or otherwise that we should forget where the shoe actually pinched and pretend as if the social raping of the nation never occurred.
“How can we do that? We have a situation where a former First Lady came out openly to claim over $ 171m found in her accounts and you think Nigerians will simply overlook that.
