Serbia put their recent woe to bed as they defeated Nigeria 2-0 in Tuesday’s international friendly played at the Hive Stadium, London.
Aleksandar Mitrovic’s second half double was enough to end the Super Eagles’ six-game unbeaten streak.

Nigeria fielded a changed side to the one that defeated Poland 1-0 on Friday as defender, Leon Balogun and striker, Kelechi Iheanacho were ruled out.
Awaziem, who came in as a replacement for Balogun, looked nervous all through the match alongside Tyronne Ebuehi.
Nigeria were lucky not to be down by a goal during the first half after the goal was not given in favour of Serbia despite replay showing that the ball had clearly crossed the line.

Nigeria failed to find headway in the first half and promptly hauled off Victor Moses at halftime.
This was not enough though as Serbia took the lead courtesy of a well taken goal by Mitrovic. The striker then doubled his side’s lead to give his team a morale boosting victory ahead of the world cup.
