BREAKING: Ekiti Deputy Gov., Prof Kolapo Olusola Emerges As PDP Governorship Candidate In Ekiti

Deputy governor of Ekiti state, Professor Kolapo Olusola Eleka has emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the state.

Olusola defeated Prince Dayo Adeyeye in the primaries conducted today, getting a total of 1,191 votes against Adeyeye’s 770 votes.

There were three candidates vying for the party’s ticket for the governorship election taking place later this year but one of the candidates, Senator Biodun Olujimi stepped down just minutes before the primaries.

Announcing the result, Governor Okowa of Delta state who monitored the voting, said that the peaceful conduct of the primaries was a testament to PDP’s superiority over APC.

He also revealed that both candidates had accepted the result and praised the process.

Professor Olusola, apart from being the deputy governor, is also widely referred to as Governor Ayo Fayose’s anointed candidate
