Nigerian defender, William Troost-Ekong scored his first international goal as Nigeria played as 1-1 draw against Democratic Republic of Congo in an international friendly.
Ekong benefited from a pass from Leicester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho who was taking the ball away from Congo’s goalkeeper.
Nigeria had the first chance after lanky striker, Simy Nwankwo rattled the crossbar with a shot that left the Congolese defense in shock.

Congo also had the chance to go ahead courtsey of some unorganized play at the back by the Super Eagles but the Nigerians had their goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho to thank for keeping them in the game.
Nigeria however grabbed the opener before the half-time break.
Top scorer of the Nigerian league, Junior Lokosa won a free-kick in a promising area and the ball was cleverly lifted over the Congo defenders and collected by Iheanacho whose loose ball fell to Ekong to finish.
The second half saw left-back, Elderson Echiejile replaced by Hull City’s Ola Aina and the young defender was at fault as Congo equalized.
The defender was adjudged to have brought a Congo player down in the box although replay suggested that the foul was actually conceded outside the box
