Senegal has become the first African side to grab two goals as well as a win in the 2018 FIFA world cup as they defeated Poland 2-1.
The Teranga Lions took the lead albeit in fortunate circumstances.
A neat set of passing left Idrissa Gueye with enough space to take a shot outside the box but the ball took a huge deflection off Poland’s Thiago Cionek and past Szczesny in goal.
Senegal doubled their lead again, this time through Niang who pounced on the poor backpass by Poland midfielder, Krychowiak and went round Szczesny before tapping in.
Krychowiak made up for his earlier mistake, planting a fine header beyond the Senegalese goalkeeper to set up a nerve wrecking finish.
Senegal held off their opponents to secure the crucial three points ahead of their second game with Japan
