The immediate past governor of Edo state, Adams Oshiomhole, has been declared the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This was revealed at the APC national convention that took place in Abuja.
Chairman of the convention committee and governor of Jigawa, Badaru Abubakar, announced that Oshiomhole emerged unopposed.
An aspirant for the position of the ruling party chairman, Clement Ebri, withdrew from the race less than 72 hours to the convention.
The convention chairman said since there was no other contender, the delegates should confirm their choice of Oshiomhole through a voice vote, which they did.
Eighteen positions have no contenders.
