It was an afternoon to forget for Nigeria’s Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige at the All Progressive Congress (APC) mega rally in Ekiti as he made a major gaffe.
Ngige was one of many top government functionaries that accompanied President Buhari to Ekiti to campaign for Kayode Fayemi ahead of the Ekiti governorship election holding on Saturday.
However, Ngigi made a major mistake as he kept mentioning Fayose, the current governor of Ekiti, instead of Fayemi who is the APC candidate in the state.
The Labour minister kept praising Fayose and ended by telling the crowd to vote for Fayose on Saturday to which the crowd responded, NO.
Speaking at the event, Ngige said:

“Mr President, leaders of our party, our people are ready and on Saturday, it will happen.
“We thank the leaders of our party, especially those of the South west for forgivinfg the Ekiti people for the mistake they made in 2014 so they won’t make that mistake again
“If you marry two wives, you go know which wan wey better. Fayose be the better wife, he dey cook, dey give husband food, no dey give am trouble so you must bring back Fayose on Saturday.”
An embarrassed Abike Dabiri, who was anchoring the event had to tap Ngige to point out the grave error he had just made.
