Once again, Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi have been nominated for the FIFA Men’s player of the year award tagged “The Best”.
Cristiano Ronaldo had a record breaking season with club, Real Madrid as he led ahis team to their third consecutive champions league trophy while topping the competition goal chart.
Messi on the other hand had a successful domestic season, finishing with two titles and ending the season as the highest goal scorer in Europe.
Real Madrid duo, Luka Modric and Raphael Varane also made the list following a stellar season in which both men were crucial at the 2018 FIFA world cup as their countries made it to the final with Varane lifting the trophy and Modric adjuged the best player at the tournament.
Kevin De Bruyne was also instrumental in Manchester City’s record breaking season; one which delivered the premier league title to them.
The Mercurial midfielder was also a key player, alongside fellow nominee and Chelsea star, Eden Hazard, as Belgium finished third at the world cup – their best ever finish at the tournmament.
Mohamed Salah and Harry Kane have been rewarded for their goalscoring prowress as they both make the list while World cup and Europa league winner, Antoine Griezmann and his fellow international, Kylian Mbappe complete the list.
