Mohamed Salah has beaten off stiff competition to win the Puskas award for the best goal of the year at the FIFA football awards holding in London.
Salah won the award for his goal against Everton in the Merseyside derby.
His goal was voted by fans to be better that Cristiano Ronaldo’s magical overhead kick against Juventus in the champions league last season as well as Gareth Bale’s stunner in the final among other goals which also had Lionel Messi’s goal against Nigeria.
Meanwhile, France’s world cup winning coach, Didier Deschamps, has won the award for the best FIFA men football coach in 2018.
Deschamps led France to a stunning world cup win in July 2018 as his young side conquered the world to lift football’s most prestigious trophy.
He beat off competition from former Real Madrid coach, Zinadine Zidane and Croatia’s Zlatko Dalic.
