The year is 2018 and it belongs to Croatia and Real Madrid midfielder, Luka Modric, who has been named Fifa best player of the year.
Modric was presented the award in a colourful ceremony in London on Monday night.
Just as he did at the Uefa awards, Modric saw off competition from former team mate, Cristiano Ronaldo and Liverpool’s Mo Salah to win the FIFA award.
Modric had a great season with Real Madrid as he was a pivotal figure in the Madrid side that won their third consecutive Uefa champions league trophy.
He then carried on the form into the world cup as he captained his national team – Croatia- to the final where they lost to France.
