“It is All Lies, Buhari Did Not Send Osinbajo, Amaechi To Meet Obasanjo” – Presidency

Osinbajo, Amaechi, Obasanjo

The presidency has denied reports making the round that Vice-president Yemi Osinbajo and minister of transportation met with ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday.

Some photos shared on social media showed Osibanjo, Amaechi and Obasanjo together in a place, smiling and shaking hands with many suggesting that it was a meeting.

However, the Senior Special Assistant on Media & Publicity to Vice President, Laolu Akande has denied that his boss and Amaechi met Obasanjo in Ota.

According to a tweet he posted on his verified handle, the trio met at an airport yesterday and exchanged pleasantries with nothing else transpiring afterwards.

“Ignore reports VP Osinbajo alongside Minister Amaechi held meeting with former President Obasanjo in Ota. Yesterday, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja, on his way to Lagos, VP ran into the former President who had just landed. They exchanged pleasantries. Period” – Laolu tweeted.

It is public knowledge that Obasanjo and Buhari have had a public fallout following a open letter Obasanjo wrote to Buhari recently, advising the president not to run for a second term in 2019.

The ex-president also went ahead to endorse his former Vice, Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2019 elections
