Governor of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi has been declared as the legitimate winner of the last governorship election held in the state.
The declaration was made by the Ekiti state governorship petition tribunal sitting in Abuja after the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the election, Kolapo Olusola challenged Fayemi’s victory .
Olusola had filed a petition, alleging that the election was fraught with irregularities and that Fayemi could not be declared winner.
However, the tribunal, on Monday, unanimously struck out Olusola’s case and ruled that Fayemi is the duly elected governor of the state.
Suleiman Belgore, chairman of the three man committee delivered the judgment.
