President Muhammadu Buhari has enjoined all Nigerians to leave aside any personal, religious or political bias and ensure that peace reigns in every community.
The president noted that every Nigerian is crucial in maintaing peace as the 2019 general election holds tomorrow.
He said this during a national broadcast on Thursday, in which he also detailed the achievements of his administration since it took office in 2015.
The President said, “As Government has a critical role in maintaining the democratic traditions, so do citizens. I therefore urge you all, as good Nigerians, to take a personal interest in promoting and maintaining peace in your respective neighbourhoods during the elections.
“This is certainly not a time to allow personal, religious, sectional or party interests to drive us to desperation.”
Earlier, Buhari had assured the entire nation, as well as foreign and domestic election observers of the Federal Government’s commitment to holding free, fair and credible elections.
He also appealed to the youths to never allow anyone to use them to foment trouble during the election period.
