President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed confidence that of returning for a second term in office by the time the elections are over.
Buhari suggested this shortly after casting his vote in the presidential and national assembly election.

The president, alongside his wife, Aisha, and some of his aides, at exactly 8:07am, cast his ballot at Kofar Baru 003 polling unit, Sarkin Yara ward in Daura, his hometown in Katsina state.
After voting, the president spoke with journalists who were at his polling unit. Asked if he would congratulate the winner if he ends up losing, the president said: “I will congratulate myself at the end of this election.”
