On Saturday morning, some ad-hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) registered their displeasure over the non-payment of allowances.
The protest by the ad-hoc staff took place at a Registration Area Centre (RAC) in Anifowose Primary School in Ikeja.
The staff, mostly youth corps members, appeared not to be interested in the election duty.
Some of them stated that apart from the election duty being tedious, they had not received their allowances as earlier promised.
They, therefore, insisted that they would not leave the RAC until their allowances were paid.
After much agitation, however, the INEC officials were seen sharing the monies.
Thereafter, the ad-hoc staff began to leave the centre with voting materials for their various Polling Units.
In other parts of the state, there have protests by the ad-hoc staff that they would not work if they are not paid their allowance of N10,000.
