President Muhammadu Buhari has announced a phased and gradual easing of the lock-down imposed on Lagos, Ogun and the FCT.
Buhari revealed this in an address to the nation on Monday.
This announcement comes two weeks after the President appeared on the screens of Nigerians to announce a two-week extension of the previously existing lock-down.
The President has now revealed that the total restrictions will continue for only 1 more week before it is gradually phased out.
He said: “…in line with the recommendations of the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19, the various Federal Government committees that have reviewed socio-economic matters and the Nigerian Governors Forum, I have approved for a phased and gradual easing of lock-down measures in FCT, Lagos and Ogun states effective from Saturday, 4th May 2020 at 9 am”
