President Muhammadu Buhari has said that he will be addressing the nation today by 7 pm following his meeting with the heads of security agencies in Nigeria.
The President’s address is coming in the wake of the fallout of the End SARS protest, the killings of protesters at the Lekki Toll-gate and the general unrest in many parts of the country.
Buhari met with the Service Chiefs on Thursday and has now decided to address the nation.
A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity Femi Adesina, reads,
“Following detailed briefing by security chiefs on the current situation in the country, President @MBuhari
will make a national broadcast Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 7pm.
“Television, radio and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Radio Nigeria respectively for the broadcast.”
